The sound is not like the advertising. It can be heard away from the pillow and is really tinny and poor quality.
It has annoying voice prompts when you power on, off or if the battery is low. I am drifting off to sleep and suddenly says charge soon battery low.. over and over.
The battery time is not very good, lucky to get 90mins out of a full charge.

This was a gift for my husband's birthday. He had not been sleeping well for some time. I thought that the QuietSide pillow speaker might help him to sleep if he could listen to music or podcasts. I've found the advertising to be a hype and misleading. If placed just inside the pillow cover, it's too hard to lay on. If placed below the pillow, you have to turn the volume up, waking others up.
Best served for background noise.

I read about pillow speakers ages ago and finally took the plunge. So glad I did. I was a bit worried about it being uncomfortable to sleep on, but it's so flat you forget it's there. Honestly could not recommend it more.
